Fred D’Agostino is Emeritus Professor of Humanities at The University of Queensland, where he was President of the Academic Board and Executive Dean of Arts. He is a philosopher working in scientific method and political theory. He has served as a UQ Senator, member of the Council of the University of New England, Deputy President of the Board of the Australasian Association of Philosophy, and as a member of the Council of the Australian Academy of the Humanities, of which he is a Fellow.
