  • I am an architect and urban designer with over 35 years experience in a wide variety of project types including design review for major projects, campus master planning, transportation and infrastructure projects, TOD design, planned residential and mixed use communities, enquiry by design workshops commercial and tourism projects. I am also experienced in the provision of expert witness evidence in the Planning and Environment Court in Queensland.

    During my many years of private practice, I was the project director for the multi-disciplinary and nationally recognised Roma Street Parkland project for the Queensland Government and project director for the multi award winning Hinze Dam Visitor Centre and Parkland.

    I am a former Queensland president of the Property Council of Australia. I have served for over 6 years on the South Bank Design Advisory Panel, two years on the Queensland Heritage Council and for four years on the Development Committee of the Queensland Heritage Council.

    I am a former Awards Director for the AIA in Queensland and has sat on panels for awards assessment across all design and construction industry sectors. I was awarded a Life Fellowship to the Australian Institute of Architects in 2012 and the Order of Australia Medal in 2010.

    I was appointed Queensland Government Architect in July 2011. In the role of Government Architect I Chair of the Board for Urban Places. I am also a member of the Design Development and Integrity Panel of the Brisbane Airport Corporation, a member of the Building and Grounds Senate Committee for the University of Queensland and have participated on panels or as a specialist advisor for many major project assessments.
