Professor Anthony O'Mullane

  • Following several postdoctoral appointments in Europe following the completion of his PhD in Ireland, Anthony O’Mullane relocated to Australia to join the Group of world leading Electrochemist, Prof Alan Bond, at Monash University.  Anthony has carved out a successful career as an independent researcher moving from Research Scientist at CSIRO to Senior Research Fellow at RMIT and Senior Research Fellow and ARC Future Fellow at QUT, noting that he has rapidly scaled the academic ranks at QUT to become a full Professor within 5 years.  He has procured several highly competitive and prestigious ARC grants including an ARC Future Fellowship and a number of ARC Discovery Project grants.  He is clearly a rising star in the Australian Electrochemistry community, and is fast becoming one of Australia’s leading figures in Electrochemistry, a field in which Australia maintains an enviable record as a global leader.  Anthony has provided national and international leadership to the electrochemistry communities as immediate past Chairs of the Physical Electrochemistry Division of the International Society of Electrochemistry and the Electrochemistry Division of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute.
